In the Interview titled “I Absorb Stories” Olga shares her thought process and inspiration from others, that influence her writing “People tell amazing micro-stories or even bigger stories. I seize them, absorb them and transform them into my books.” Tuning in to others’ peoples experiences and life stories is Tokarczuk’s most prominent motivation, she expressed that she owes a lot to her experience in Psychology. Tokarczuk feels as “everybody’s reality is a novel standing by to be composed”. In the event that we could separate incredible stories from different people’s lives.
In Olga’s interview she also talks about her novel Flight, where the main character seems to travel a lot, making the airport the whole setting of the story, this represents a metaphor that represents the journey of the main character. During this journey she gives the reader a lot of content, separated narratives and stories that all connect together in one way or another.
She also talks about a short biography where they talk about several novels, poems and book Olga has written and have been a value stories for the public. I learn that Olga sees potential on the stories an individual can carry, everyone has an amazing story behind them and she’s such and intellectual human being that can make a story out somes life journey. The interview was very casual in the open nature, something that I did notice watching this interview is that very expressive with body language and you can see the emotion and how she writes from the inside, she’s a very knowledgeable person who uses her educational profession to understand other people’s trajectory.
